Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cable Harness Assembler to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility in Oldsmar, FL. The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of assembly operations, working on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, while contributing to innovative projects supporting diverse military and commercial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Work from diagrams and drawings to make initial layouts using hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
  • Perform quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Follow written instructions to build cable harnesses accurately.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in cable or wire harness assembly in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and print instructions.
  • Proficiency in hand assembly, soldering, crimping, and wire termination.
  • High mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC J-STD-001 Certifications are highly preferred.
  • Experience with IPC 610/620 requirements and electronic assembly.
  • Familiarity with using hand tools to strip, crimp, and assemble copper and coax wire.
  • Soldering experience, particularly with IPC 620 standards, is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large, regulated, and safety-conscious manufacturing facility located in Oldsmar, Florida. It is climate-controlled, offering air-conditioned and well-spaced workstations for employees. The facility operates on two shifts: the 1st shift runs from 5 am to 3:30 pm, and the 2nd shift from 3:30 pm to 2 am, Monday through Thursday, with Fridays scheduled off.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of OLDSMAR, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
