About the Role:
The Nurse (Certified Medical Assistant) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within the healthcare services industry. This position involves providing direct clinical support to physicians and healthcare teams, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate medical documentation. The Nurse (CMA) is responsible for performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with medical procedures, all while maintaining patient comfort and safety. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, fostering a compassionate and supportive environment. Ultimately, the Nurse (CMA) contributes to improved patient outcomes by combining clinical expertise with empathetic care in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Positions available in Allergy, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Cardiology and Primary Care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited organization such as AAMA or AMT.
- Valid state licensure or registration as required by local regulations for medical assistants.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Basic patient confidentiality experience.
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures by preparing patients and necessary equipment.
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and preventive healthcare measures to promote wellness.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical instruments and examination rooms to uphold infection control standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to support comprehensive patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform administrative duties such as prescription renewals, triaging clinical messages, assisting with the patient portal, obtain prior authorization for medications.

The Nurse (CMA) utilizes clinical skills daily to perform patient assessments, administer treatments, and assist with medical procedures, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Effective communication skills are essential for educating patients, coordinating with healthcare providers, and documenting clinical information clearly and comprehensively. Organizational skills help manage patient scheduling, maintain medical supplies, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Proficiency with electronic health record systems enables efficient data entry and retrieval, supporting seamless patient care coordination. Additionally, empathy and cultural sensitivity are applied consistently to foster trust and comfort among patients from diverse backgrounds.
