A one-lawyer firm in downtown Pensacola seeks a Legal Assistant with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The firm specializes in representing disabled individuals and helping them pursue disability benefits.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing behind-the-scenes support while still contributing to meaningful work. You will work closely with the paralegal and attorney, gaining exposure to the legal field, developing your skills, and playing a role in improving the lives of people living with serious disabilities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Assisting the paralegal in preparing case files

Organizing, scanning, and filing documents

Timely submitting routine paperwork under supervision

Tracking case status and updating internal case management systems

Responding to client phone calls, emails, and mail with professionalism

Contacting clients to gather information or confirm details

Assisting with obtaining and organizing medical records

Helping prepare timelines, summaries, and checklists for attorney/paralegal use

Scheduling important dates, calls, meetings, and hearings

Providing general administrative support to ensure smooth office operations

Collaborating with the attorney and paralegal to serve clients efficiently
The job requires someone with:

Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with disabled clients

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay focused in a fast-paced environment

Comfort with word processing and basic computer skills

Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when needed
Prior legal experience or familiarity with disability law is preferred but not required. An associate’s degree, prior office/administrative experience, or customer service background is a plus.
