Join our vibrant team as an Aquatic Program Coordinator and play a vital role in promoting water safety, fitness, and community engagement through our YMCA's aquatic programs. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to oversee the planning, implementation, and management of our swimming and water-based activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and supervise aquatic programs including swim lessons, water fitness classes, and recreational activities.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules, maintaining proper safety protocols, and supervising lifeguards and staff.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and training of lifeguards, instructors, and other aquatic staff.
- Monitor and maintain pool facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Promote aquatic programs within the community to increase participation and engagement.
- Conduct regular safety drills, staff meetings, and performance evaluations.
- Addresses and resolves questions and concerns from parents and students about swim classes.
- Collaborate with other YMCA departments to support community events and initiatives related to aquatic activities.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in aquatic program management, lifeguarding, or related roles.
- Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop engaging and safe aquatic programs for diverse age groups.
- Knowledge of pool maintenance, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Jeff Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor. Certified Pool Operator a plus. Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Current First Aid.
