Job DescriptionDescription: POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pharmacist ensures the safe and accurate dispensing of medications while maintaining full compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations and departmental workflow.• Ensure regulatory compliance and participate in inspections (Board of Pharmacy, DEA, Joint Commission, Fire/Safety).• Conduct monthly productivity analyses, performance evaluations, and required reporting.• Lead monthly departmental meetings and maintain documentation required for accreditation.• Manage inventory control, including prescription/OTC orders, flu vaccine reservations, and physical inventory reporting.• Maintain and review employee records, including licenses, background checks, time clock compliance, and schedule changes.• Participate in hiring processes, employee training, and disciplinary actions.• Communicate incidents, accidents, and operational updates to HR, Legal, and appropriate departments.• Coordinate operational responsibilities for Saturdays, absences, and team scheduling.• Monitor prescription workflows, address delays, STAT requests, and prescription errors with medical centers.• Manage co-pay logs, OTC utilization reports, co-pay waiver reviews, and PMPM performance analysis.• Report equipment issues to external vendors and coordinate maintenance needs.• Maintain facility compliance items such as fire drills, sprinklers/flow tests, parking records, and site inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.• Active Florida Pharmacist License, maintained with required continuing education.• 1–2 years of practical pharmacy experience, such as internships, rotations, or clinical/retail practice.• Strong understanding of federal and Florida pharmacy regulations.• Highly organized with strong time management and project management skills. • Solid ability to handle confidential information appropriately and with integrity.• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required by the need of the operation.• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
