Moorings Park is looking for an Activities Coordinator. The Activities Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Director of Campus Life to provide a balanced activities program that will meets the mental, physical, and social needs of residents. This program is designed to enhance residents' quality of life, encourage engagement, and promote overall well-being while adhering to applicable regulatory guidelines. The Activities Coordinator will help the director plan, organize, and direct programs that cater to individual interests and community needs, helping residents attain and maintain their highest level of functioning.
Contributions:
- Completes required documentation in a timely manner, and tracks attendance and participation in activities.
- Assists in transportation of residents to all in-house activities.
- In Director of Campus Life’s absence attends and participates in regularly scheduled meetings i.e., resident council, quality assurance, and standards of care.
- Participates in continuing education programs to comply with mandatory in-service requirements dictated by State and Federal governments.
- Assists Director of Campus Life with planning and completing the monthly activity calendar and ensures they are posted by the 1st of every month, creating monthly staff schedule, and completing monthly food requests.
- Complies with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Visits and engages with new residents shortly after moving in to assess their interests and introduce them to the activity program.
- Organizes, sets up, and leads daily group and individual activities, including but not limited to lectures, social gatherings, outings, and entertainment events.
- Assists with emergency procedures, including fire drills and resident safety instructions.
- Supervises and schedules assigned activity staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
- Adheres to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Activity Director Certification preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in activities and working with older adults preferred.
- Works in compliance with all HIPAA regulations and standards.
