Job Summary:
Box of Cubans is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Front of House Cashier & Barista to join our team! This role is essential in providing a warm welcome to guests, handling transactions efficiently, and preparing high-quality coffee and beverages. Key Responsibilities:
Cashier Duties:
- Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Process cash and card payments using the POS system.
- Handle cash drawer operations, including balancing at the end of shifts.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding menu items and make recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized front counter and dining area.
Barista & Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages to order.
- Follow proper brewing techniques and presentation standards.
- Ensure consistency in coffee taste, quality, and preparation methods.
- Keep the coffee station clean and stocked at all times.
- Educate customers on coffee selections and flavors when requested.
General & Customer Service Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction and resolving any issues promptly.
- Assist with packaging and handing off to-go orders.
- Support the front-of-house team in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming atmosphere.
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cashier, barista, or in a customer service role preferred.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
