**Job Summary:**
The Activities Assistant/Transport will support the planning and implementation of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in an assisted living facility. This role involves accompanying residents to and from activities, ensuring their safety and comfort during transportation, and promoting an engaging and fulfilling social environment. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, a passion for helping others, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and families. Also transporting residents to and from doctor appointments on set days weekly.

**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Activity Support:**
- Assist the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and executing daily recreational and therapeutic activities.
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs and events.
- Help set up and take down activity spaces, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
2. **Transportation:**
- Safely transport residents to and from activities, appointments, and outings using facility vehicles.
- Assist residents with mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers) as needed and ensure safety protocols are followed during transport.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere during transportation.
3. **Resident Interaction:**
- Build rapport with residents to understand their interests and preferences, fostering a sense of community.
- Provide companionship and support to residents during activities and transportation.
- Involve residents in the planning of future activities based on their feedback and interests.
4. **Documentation:**
- Assist in maintaining accurate records regarding resident participation in activities as well as incident reports during transportation.
- Communicate regularly with the Activities Director regarding resident needs and preferences.
5. **Safety and Compliance:**
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, promoting a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in required training and staff meetings to stay updated on facility policies and procedures.

**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with older adults or in a healthcare, social services, or recreational environment is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents according to safety protocols.
- Compassionate attitude and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as necessary throughout the day.
- Capacity to assist residents with mobility when required.
