Summary of the role:
The Sr. Interior Designer/Managing Director role combines design and operational leadership, team building and management, and legal compliance. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in interior design, and the leadership skills to build and scale a high-performing team in the United States and handle assigned projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Design:
- Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring that the vision aligns with client expectations and project goals.
- Oversee project delivery, managing all phases of the design, documentation and implementation.
- Maintain strong relationships with the clients acting as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop design concepts, presentations and technical drawings to clearly communicate design intent.
- Prepare detailed CAD drawings, 3D models and FF&E specifications while ensuring all design documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Manage supplier, contractor and stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth project delivery, from sourcing to installation.
- Conduct site visits to oversee design implementation and ensure quality and precision are maintained.
- Stay informed on the latest trends, materials and technology in the design industry to keep our projects at the forefront of innovation.
- Manage project budgets, timelines and resources effectively.

Management & Administration:
- Leading the U.S. office and driving strategic planning across the business and team.
- Leading all legal aspects of company regulatory compliance and liaising with legal advisors to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Developing project-related proposals, as needed.
- Building a multidisciplinary team of designers, overseeing their onboarding and offboarding and leading staff development efforts.
- Ensuring company internal policies are in line with U.S. labor laws and company values.
- Leading innovation and technology adoption within the company.
- Ensuring maintenance of office facilities and operations.
- Facilitating cross-department collaboration
- Ensuring cost-effective operations and sustainable profitability.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in interior design or architecture.
- 10+ years of professional experience in interior design, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
- Demonstrable portfolio with a strong experience in delivering high end luxury projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in using SketchUp, 3DMax, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and AutoCAD.
- Proficient in project management software.
- Proven track record of delivering projects from concept through completion.
- Creative and strategic mindset with ability to think innovatively and execute complete design concepts.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Working conditions and Environment:
- The position is Office based in Florida, Miami.
- The position may require minimal international business travel requirements.
