Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Trust and Estates Paralegal to join our Naples office within the Private Wealth Management practice group. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in all aspects of trust and estate planning, administration, and compliance, ensuring seamless client service for affluent clients in Florida and beyond. This role requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience in trust and estates, with a focus on efficiency, attention to detail, and a client-centric approach. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and draft estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
  • Assist in trust administration, including funding trusts, preparing accountings, and coordinating with trustees and beneficiaries.
  • Conduct legal research on Florida probate laws, tax implications, and estate planning strategies using tools like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • File probate and guardianship petitions with the local courts, and manage post-death asset inventories and distributions.
  • Maintain client files, track deadlines for estate filings, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as billing, calendaring, and document management using practice management software.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience specifically in trust and estates or probate law, ideally in a Florida-based firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of Florida probate code, trust laws, and estate tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
