Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Metal Truss to oversee the planning, coordination, fabrication, delivery, and installation of light-gauge steel / metal truss systems for commercial and residential construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of metal truss systems, scheduling, coordination with engineers and installers, and strict adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage metal truss projects from design coordination through installation and closeout
- Coordinate with structural engineers, truss manufacturers, architects, and installers
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and engineering approvals for accuracy and compliance
- Develop and maintain project schedules, material delivery timelines, and installation sequences
- Oversee budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, and vendor payments
- Ensure truss fabrication and installation meet project plans, specifications, and code requirements
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and safety compliance
- Resolve field issues, design conflicts, and installation challenges
- Maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and communication logs
- Ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality and safety standards
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of light-gauge steel / metal truss systems
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, truss layouts, and shop drawings
- Experience coordinating fabrication and installation schedules
- Strong construction sequencing and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience managing metal truss or structural framing projects
- Background in construction management, structural systems, or related field
- Experience with commercial, multifamily, or large residential projects preferred
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and safety regulations
- PMP or construction-related certification a plu
