Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for processing and coordinating reservations, bed Assignments for admissions and transfers. Serves as a liaison and resource for physicians, physician's office staff, nursing, ancillary departments and registration staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Well versed in medical terminology, hospital service, accommodation codes, policies and procedures.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain an excellent rapport with patients, visitors, medical staff, nursing and non-clinical staff in all situations.
EDUCATION:•High School Diploma required.•Some medical terminology and business courses preferred.
TRAINING:•Three months of on-the-job training with previous registration and/or related experience
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:•Proficiency in spelling, grammar, medical terminology and computer skills.•Able to maintain professional demeanor under stress.•Able to continuously prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously•Able to communicate effectively and maintain an excellent rapport with patients, visitors, medical staff, nursing, non-clinical staff, and coworkers in all situations.
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATION:•None Required
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:•Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital.•Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment.•Ensuring that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner.•Displays concern and aids or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations.•Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.•Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

Must clear background and drug test required.
