The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation and repair of Packaging and /or Wide Format equipment. This position will provide professional and technically skilled service to support a positive customer experience, maximize customer retention and increase the profitability of the Mac Papers + Packaging service department. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)
Essential Position Functions:
- Professionally troubleshoot, diagnosis, and perform repairs on equipment at customer locations.
- Complete new equipment installation and provide training to customers on the operation of their equipment.
- Perform routine and operational maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns.
- Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis on all components and systems.
- Responsible for reviewing service schedule and assignments daily to ensure individual workflow aligns with schedule.
- Accurately record maintenance and repair work performed by completing service orders in a timely manner.
- Complete in-house repairs and order parts when needed.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of company equipment and tools.
- Complete basic and step progression advanced training as assigned and attend training classes as required.
- Operate company service vehicle in a safe manner
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition; complete vehicle checklist as required.
- Maintain a culture of safety & participate in all safety meetings.
- Build positive relationships with customers.
- Follow established company procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate and share information with other departments, including the technical team.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as needed, with overnight travel regularly required.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical / trade school certificate or Associate’s degree in Electromechanical preferred.
- 1 - 3 years’ experience preferred.
- Electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
- Professional and proper use of common hand tools.
- Familiar with industrial equipment control wiring.
- Ability to read, understand electrical wiring diagrams and use electrical testing tools.
- Familiarity with mobile tools and applications.
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows) skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English and Spanish, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a current Driver’s license and clean MVR.

- Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- This position is very active and requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing of ladders.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to safely push, pull, or leverage objects weighing up to 100 lbs. or more, using appropriate equipment or techniques as needed.
Mental Demands
- Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Work Environment
- Employee works in a variety of environments: Warehouse / Manufacturing / Production Floor/Office / Remote.
- Noise levels will fluctuate based on work environment.
- Due to travel / driving responsibilities, will be exposed to weather and typical driving conditions.
