Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time or part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide critical speech and language services within K-12 schools located in Southeastern Florida, primarily in the Ft. Pierce and Port St. Lucie areas. This contract role runs from January 5, 2026, through June 2, 2026. Assignments vary, with most SLPs supporting one campus, including middle and K-8 schools as well as a private school evaluation team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy to students across grades K-12.
- Support classrooms with inclusive speech and language interventions tailored to diverse needs, including Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) units.
- Conduct evaluations for speech-language services, particularly for private school students requiring district assessment.
- Collaborate with school staff, educators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Manage caseloads effectively, ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is required.
- Experience working in school settings preferred but new graduates with enthusiasm and commitment are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work independently without onsite SLP support on certain days.
- Competency in assessment and intervention with diverse student populations, including those with speech sound disorders, language impairments, and augmentative communication needs.
Location and Schedule:
- Primary locations include Dan McCarty Middle School and Forest Grove Middle School in Ft. Pierce, Oak Hammock K-8 in Port St. Lucie, and a district office-based evaluation team.
- Schedules range from full-time (4-5 days per week) to part-time (1-2 days per week) depending on assignment.
- Remote or hybrid work options are not available for this role.
