Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Fort Pierce, FL, serving PreK through 6th-grade students in an elementary school setting. This contract position offers the chance to work with a caseload of approximately 40 students, providing vital speech and language support to enhance their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine eligibility for special education services and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with a multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions targeting goals outlined in student IEPs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to implement communication strategies that support student success within the classroom and broader school environment.
- Engage in district-wide initiatives focused on fostering positive school climate, cultural responsiveness, and social justice.
- Provide training and resources to school staff to effectively support students with communication challenges.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida state licensure as an SLP and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Demonstrated expertise in the latest speech-language pathology research, theories, and methodologies.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, exhibiting cultural competence and sensitivity.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
