Job DescriptionCareer Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Head of Engineering - Crypto - US - this is a fully remote role for EST-based candidates, as long as they are open to regular trips to Paris.
We are a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol that recently secured $50 million in funding from Ribbit Capital, a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Variant, Brevan Howard, Pantera, Blocktower, and 50 others to support its mission of revolutionizing lending with an open, efficient, and resilient platform. We are experiencing explosive growth, with over $6 billion in assets supplied on the protocol, solidifying itself as the new standard for DeFi lending. Now, we are scaling our team of contributors to establish ourselves as a cornerstone, not just of DeFi, but of a new internet-native financial system.

Mission & Responsibilities
As Head of Engineering, you will spearhead our off-chain engineering team, driving execution and building the highest-performing engineering organization in DeFi. This pivotal role involves building and structuring the team, establishing robust processes, and owning the career development of each engineer, while orchestrating our product delivery and ensuring the team consistently meets its roadmap commitments. Including:

Build the highest-performing engineering team in DeFi by sourcing, interviewing, closing, onboarding, and developing talent.

Guide and mentor engineers to achieve our strategic objectives.

Establish and champion engineering best practices across the team.

Partner with Product & Protocol teams to shape Morpho's roadmap.

Drive product delivery while meeting commitments for timelines, SLAs, and budgets.
Job requirements
Must-have Experience & Skills

8+ years of experience leading engineering teams

3+ years managing a mid-sized engineering team

2+ years of experience in a crypto company

Proven track record of growing teams in engineering-driven organizations, including sourcing, interviewing, closing, onboarding, and developing talent

Direct experience building in the crypto/blockchain space

Humility and a team-first mindset
Nice to have: Experience with critical crypto infrastructure (e.g., exchanges, financial infrastructure, fintech)
