Overview
Venture Dynamics is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Ship Cleaners to support shipboard maintenance and repair operations by performing general, detailed, and fine-finish cleaning aboard U.S. Navy and commercial vessels. Work includes bilge-to-bridge cleaning, compartment restoration, sanitation, and maintaining safe and orderly ship spaces. This role is commonly used for LCS-class vessel support and general shipyard cleaning projects requiring consistent cleanliness and readiness.
Responsibilities
Perform shipboard cleaning in compartments, passageways, machinery spaces, bilges, berthing, and common areas
Remove debris, trash, oily waste, and contaminated materials in accordance with NAVSEA and shipyard standards
Conduct detailed surface wipe-downs, dust removal, deck scrubbing, and sanitation tasks
Support compartment reset prior to inspections, QA checks, or vessel turnover
Assist with light cleaning around active ship repair and maintenance operations
Transport cleaning supplies and equipment safely between work locations
Maintain housekeeping standards in shops, staging areas, and onboard vessels
Work in confined spaces, narrow passageways, ladders, and restricted shipboard environments
Follow NAVSEA, shipyard, and company safety requirements
Carry out instructions from supervisors and shipboard leads
Requirements
Prior janitorial, industrial cleaning, maritime, or general labor experience
Ability to work in confined spaces, hot/cold environments, and areas with strong odors or contaminants
Ability to climb ladders, maneuver through hatches, and work safely aboard vessels
Ability to lift 3050 lbs as required
Must pass background check and drug screening per customer requirements
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and variable shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Prior shipboard cleaning experience (LCS or Navy vessels preferred)
Familiarity with Navy inspection standards and shipboard sanitation procedures
Experience cleaning bilges, compartments, machinery spaces, or industrial environments
Exposure to general shipyard operations
Additional Information
Work may occur aboard Navy ships, including LCS-class vessels
Tasks may include cleaning in machinery spaces, berthing, bilges, and compartment interiors
Per diem is generally not provided unless specified by contract
PPE provided according to project and customer requirements
