The Packer/Relief Driver is responsible for supporting both food production and warehouse operations. This versatile role includes hand-packing meal components, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a backup driver to deliver food products to customers as needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in both warehouse and production environments while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hand-pack food components, meals, and other products according to production requirements and customer specifications.
- Perform tasks such as grasping, folding, boxing, lifting, stocking, pressing, and organizing items in a clean and efficient manner.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety protocols, and hygiene practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect products at all stages to ensure quality standards and food safety regulations are met.
- Participate in sanitation and housekeeping activities in production and warehouse areas.
- Maintain accurate production logs, including quantities packed, product details, and deviations from standard procedures.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and inspecting inbound products for accuracy and quality.
- Pull orders from stock and prepare products for shipment, including packing, labeling, and loading outbound trucks.
- Complete necessary paperwork and data entry for inventory control and shipping/receiving records.
- Drive company vehicles to deliver food products to customers, ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained during transport.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Assist in other production, warehouse, or delivery duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food production, packing, warehouse operations, or driving preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, labels, and safety information in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes precisely.
- Comfortable using pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to pass all required screenings, including DOT physical, MVR check, and background check.
- Experience with fleet routing (GPS) and electronic signature systems (tablet) preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly throughout the shift, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for the majority of the workday.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to food debris, odors, constant equipment noise, temperature extremes, wet areas, or similar elements.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Must be willing to participate in all required cleaning and sanitation activities, including end-of-shift clean-up

Lifting/Exertion
