Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Supervisor
Location: Lantana, FL
Facility Type: 55-Bed Residential/Inpatient Treatment Facility
Population Served: Individuals with Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the BHT team at a 55-bed residential facility providing care for individuals with co-occurring disorders. This role ensures that all direct care staff maintain a safe, structured, and supportive therapeutic environment while adhering to facility policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, schedule, and coordinate shifts for the BHT team to ensure proper coverage across all units

Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to BHT staff

Train new BHTs in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, documentation procedures, and client engagement best practices

Monitor client activities and BHT documentation to ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements

Conduct regular staff meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary treatment planning

Assist in addressing staff or client-related incidents and complete necessary incident reports

Work closely with clinical and nursing teams to support continuity of care and maintain therapeutic structure

Participate in audits, inspections, and other quality assurance initiatives

Uphold safety standards and ensure consistent implementation of client supervision policies

Model and promote professional boundaries, ethics, and trauma-informed care

Occasional flexibility may be required for staffing coverage or emergencies
Compensation:
-
Annual Salary: $55,000 – $60,000

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a residential or inpatient behavioral health setting

Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or lead BHT role

Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders strongly preferred

Current CPR/First Aid certification required

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (if applicable for transport duties)

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with professionalism and composure
