Do you enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing what you know? Are you a current or former educator looking for a different type of employment that promotes learning? We are willing to train the right candidate. Once you have completed the training, you will be equipped with the skills to lead groups through the entire park, educating all ages about butterflies, their habitats, birds, plants, and so much more!
When not leading tours, you will assist customers in the extensive museum store, The BW Shop, the Cafes, the Garden Center, and in a docent capacity in our butterfly "flight areas." This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly, smiling person who would like to work with other friendly people in a breathtakingly beautiful environment. Our park is primarily outdoors, so you must be comfortable with all weather conditions.
Personal cell phones must be kept in lockers during work!
Responsibilities:
Giving One-Hour Tours to Both Children & Adults
Gift Shop Sales
Order Processing & Inventories
Admission Ticket Sales
Light Cafe Work
Outdoor Butterfly Aviary Attendant/Security
Must be available on Weekends & Holidays
Job requirements:
• High School Diploma required
• Great communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Completes all established duties promptly
• Good physical condition
• Willingness to work outdoors, including weekends and holidays
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not necessary
• Must pass a background check and drug test
Your weekly schedule changes depending on school/camp tour bookings, vacations, holidays, etc. The regular work schedule is up to 28 hours per week.
