Position Summary Description

Ensures the physical security of personnel, facilities, and equipment at all locations. Oversee and maintains security systems and equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Determines necessary security coverage in accordance with normal operations, planned outages, and special requirements.
  • Assists contract Security Officers. On call 24/7 for any incidents, and to do investigations as needed.
  • Conducts regular inspections of plant property and facilities and initiates action to correct deficiencies in security systems or safe working conditions.
  • Ensures that all security and surveillance camera systems are operational at all times.
  • Works in the Physical Access Control System (PACS).
  • Conducts investigations concerning theft, vandalism, and other property losses in coordination with applicable parties, and local law enforcement officials. Prepares reports and recommends subsequent actions.
  • Communicates with management on security matters.
  • Tracks and maintains records of physical access authorization forms for all Seminole sites.
  • Ensures all site badges are created and maintained in compliance with CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) regulations.
  • Activates and deactivates employee badges within CIP regulations.
  • Works within security computer for audit reports and quarterly reports.
  • Ability to cross-train in other positions and assist in training team members.
  • Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.
  • NERC Compliance: Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole’s Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in “audit ready.” You should also be familiar with Seminole’s Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole’s compliance program and the context of your duties and responsibilities attendant to your designation in the SOM.


Qualifications and Education Requirement

Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in law enforcement, military service, or security operations. At least one (1) year of additional training in fire protection, safety, or security. High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Must possess a valid Florida Class “D” Security License in accordance with Chapter 493 of the Florida Statutes.

  • Knowledge of CIP/NERC/FERC/FRCC Reliability Standards

Physical Requirements

Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. Must climb, enter enclosures, traverse plant premises, and be comfortable with heights. Must be able to travel to multiple sites; occasional overnight travel may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Working Conditions

While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Must attend related professional courses, training, and seminars, which may involve overnight stays of up to one week.
