We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The Medication Technician will be responsible for assisting with the administration and management of medications for residents in a memory Care assisted living, The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medication protocols, a commitment to patient safety, and excellent communication skills and hands on approach with dementia residents.
- Assist with administration with medications to Residents according to prescribed schedules and guidelines.
- Prepare, document assist with medication administration accurately.
- Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Assist with medication storage and inventory management, ensuring that medications are properly maintained and disposed of.
- Collaborate with management other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Educate families on medication assistance management and safety practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to assist with medication administration and resident health.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to keep abreast of best practices in medication management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Medication Administration or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medication management, is a plus.
- 6 hour initial certificate along with two hour recertification if applicable is a must.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred and will be required to continue further employment.
- Must pass background checks and comply with state licensing requirements.
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
- Capability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
