Messina Talent is assisting a specialized diagnostics company focused on reducing cancer misdiagnosis through partnerships with leading academic institutions, to find a Molecular Technologist. The ideal candidate will be integral to a small team managing the department's daily workflow, reporting to the Laboratory Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform DNA/RNA extractions and molecular assays on PCR instruments following laboratory procedures
- Execute proficiency testing and maintain quality control documentation
- Conduct instrument calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or results
- Manage inventory and maintain patient records
- Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure timely, accurate service
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences) or related field
- ASCP certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Team-oriented with attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Familiarity with QuantStudio a plus
