Job Description
This is a contract opportunity with the potential to become permanent for those who demonstrate strong welding skills, consistent attendance, and a positive attitude. The position involves performing Stick Welding and Flux Core Welding on structural steel for a significant project. Welders will work with structural metal components following blueprints, work orders, or verbal instructions.
Responsibilities
- Weld together structural metal components using welding equipment to generate heat.
- Utilize knowledge of metallic and non-metallic materials' working characteristics.
- Follow the sequence of work activities as directed by blueprints or instructions.
- Operate the flux core welding machine, which includes a wire feeder system.
- Regulate the machine's temperature, gas, and speed.
- Troubleshoot the welding machine in case of malfunctions.
- Perform technical and precise welds at higher temperatures.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 6 months of welding experience.
- Proficiency in Flux Core Welding or Stick Welding.
- Own welding hood and steel toe boots.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with MIG welding is beneficial.
- No welding certification required; in-house certification will be provided.
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Environment
The work environment includes both 1st and 2nd shifts, with some opportunity for overtime. The shop is open-air with cover, and employees will work in a loud and occasionally dirty environment. Safety is a priority, and employees are required to check in with supervisors before leaving their shifts.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
