Director of Nursing (SNF/LTAC) - up to $160,000 plus hiringincentives

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Overview

Our client is seeking a dynamic Director or Nursing (DON) tojoin their Long-Term Care (LTC) facility. This role is pivotal in providingclinical leadership, ensuring superior patient care, standardizing clinicalprotocols, and contributing to the successful recruitment and retention ofclinical staff. Key Responsibilities

- Monitors compliance with quality assurance standards, andfederal, state, and local regulations. Through regular chart audits, identifiestrends/problems, assists in implementation of corrective action, and evaluatesthe effectiveness of care interventions -- Identifies needs and participates inthe development of clinical Policies and Procedures for the Nursing Department

- Ensures regulatory compliance for annual, mandatedin-service training for newly hired and existing nursing staff.

- Participates actively in organizational and Larsencommittees relating to education, infection control and safety

- Recruits, trains and onboards new nursing staff andprovides ongoing education classes

- Serves as the back-up to the Infection Preventionist(ADON).

- Participates in “rotating house supervision schedule”including weekends and holidays, as necessary

- Provides leadership, coaching and guidance; creates aworking environment of participation and works to retain and develop staff

- Resolves grievances of subordinates according toestablished policies

- Oversees department budgets, managing patients’ data andmedical records as confidential records

- Communicates with doctors, patients and family membersabout patient health

- Implements new procedures and trains nurses on policies

Requirements

Education:

- Bachelors Preferred

Experience:

- 5 years of Leadership experience in an integrated deliverysystem/continuing care environment.
