Job Overview:
This Shift Key Lead role was established for a few reasons. Primarily, the position was created to help with taproom and event floor coverage when a service manager is out sick or on approved time off.
The position was also developed to create a pathway for advancement to management. The position involves key management functions with limited access to systems and expectations related to reporting and other administrative duties.
This position is meant to be assigned to a Team Member who is also performing hourly service jobs like hosting, serving, and or bartending. The combined hours for both job codes will amount to a full time position, and so long as the Team Member maintains full time hours, full time benefits will be made available.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing the hourly service staff (e.g., hosts, servers, bartenders, brewbacks and runners) and on occasion when needed, managing the execution of our Private Events and overseeing the hourly events staff.
This includes:
- Having the ability to proficiently fill any front of house hourly role (I.e., bartending, serving, hosting, event serving, etc.)
- Setting up and breaking down the restaurant (turning on/off TVs, setting up cash drawers, writing rosters and floor plans)
- Ensuring the team reports for their scheduled shifts on time and cutting team members when the sales do not support the labor and and reaching out to team members for coverage
- Delegating tasks.
- Ensuring team members follow proper food handling and responsible alcohol vending practices.
- Ensuring all guest-facing areas within the taproom are clean, presentable, and fully-functioning.
- Greet and seat guests.
- Answer phone calls and take reservations.
- Manage expo, this includes ensuring the quality of all food sold is to our standards (I.e., made correctly, presented properly, ensuring all modifications are correct).
- Run guest food and beverage to tables
- Communicate with guests, ensuring their experience is to the highest standard and relay pertinent information to management team when needed
- When issues with service arise, using problem solving skills to rectify any issues
- Issuing comps and voids, free draft/app vouchers
- Ensuring that all hourly team members are following company policies.
This role does not involve any vendor ordering or reporting, nor will this Team Member have the authority to terminate or issue progressive coachings.
