New Patient Coordinator/Surgical Scheduler

Job DescriptionPalm Tree Interventional Pain Management is a high volume medical practice that is in need of someone who is courteous, professional, and efficient. The new patient coordinator/surgical scheduler responsibilities include:

• new patient registration
  • verify insurance
  • input new patient into EMR
  • schedules new patient
• communicate regularly with physicians, which may include patients, ancillary and surgical areas to involve: scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of single/multiple tests and procedures. Scheduling coordinators must also manage schedules, assign work, track procedural progress, order equipment when needed, and complete administrative tasks like writing reports, typing, and answering phones.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm

>1 year of medical office experience

Spanish speaker is preferred

Pay rate depends on experience of candidate

Education / Training

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have knowledge on medical terminology
• Medical Assistant diploma

Essential Functions

• Maintains a working knowledge of ICD-9 (ICD-10) and CPT codes, as deemed necessary.
• You must know how to use eClinicalWorks and you need strong communication skills to work with patients.
• Provide accurate information of department / procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time.
• Knowledge of computer applications, multi-line telephone system, printers, copy fax machines, which may include required data entry.
• Maintains basic understanding of the medical needs during the screening process for scheduling an appointment.
• Consistently reviews the schedules daily and communicates all conflicts with physician and/or practice manager.
