Job Description

We are seeking a skilled individual who can expertly transform mechanical prints and CAD models into precise CMM programs. This pivotal role ensures our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision by thoroughly checking all GD&T specifications and generating detailed reports.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CMM programs from mechanical prints and CAD models.
  • Verify all GD&T specifications to ensure quality standards.
  • Create detailed inspection reports.
  • Utilize knowledge of geometric tolerances and tool manufacturing processes.
  • Use and maintain various measuring instruments and devices.
  • Operate inspection equipment and gauges.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and prints.
  • Perform mathematical calculations involving geometry and trigonometry.
  • Work with tight tolerances of +/- .001 inches.
  • Adapt to parts ranging from small to large based on customer requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CMM programming and operation, particularly with Zeiss Calypso.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, machining tolerances, and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to read drawings and prints accurately.
  • Experience with inspection equipment and gauges.
  • Competency in performing mathematical calculations related to geometry and trigonometry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous CMM experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and related business management software programs.
  • Experience with various measuring equipment and computers.

Work Environment

This position is a first shift role from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. The shop is equipped with air conditioning and staffed with 8 machinists. You'll have a dedicated space in the office alongside 2-3 colleagues. Our facility houses a variety of CNC machines, including a 5-axis Okuma mill and 2 horizontal lathe machines, totaling 6-7 CNC machines on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stuart, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
