Job Description
Job DescriptionThe Regional Student Accounts Officer manages payments, cash flow, and follows up with in-school and out-of-school past due continuously. Provides effective financial counseling and advice to prospective and current students.
Prepares collections and financial reports, student ledger card adjustments, and posting of Scholarships. Work closely with Tuition Options to maximize collection efforts.
Minimum requirements:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial information and to develop and prepare financial statements and analyses.
- Prior experience in proprietary schools is a plus.
- 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Receives and posts student payments

- Track all student payment plans to ensure timely payment
- Re Write financing plans (Tuition Options)
- Follow up on Tuition Options collection efforts
- Daily collection reporting
- Monitor collections agency income
- Handles all in and out of school collections including referrals to collection agency
- Posts refunds/credit adjustments
- Notify student of changes in payment plan due to any retake of a class
- Prepare all cash payer installment notes for returning students with previous balances
- Handles all credit card transactions
- Attend At Risk meeting to cover students on SA Hold
- Provide weekly feedback/reporting of department’s status to Executive Director
- Make adjustments to student ledgers due to change in enrollment status following policy established and/or Corporate referrals.
- Work with Tuition Options to ensure student payments thru portal or Tuitions options are recorded accurately.
- Monthly introductory welcome calls for new students with payment plans.
- Review student account and post scholarship following scholarship criteria
- Collaborate with Financial Aid staff to assist students with the interpretation of information on student accounts and related Institutional policies and procedures.
- Prepares materials, including student invoices, schedules, reports, logs, student correspondence and spreadsheets.
- Assists customers with inquiries regarding 1098-T tax reports, including correcting student account records; generating duplicate statements; reproducing the 1098-T forms.
- Must be familiar with college payment, billing and refund policies, institutional and FERPA confidentiality regulations, and Federal Title IV cash management regulations.
