Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role involves providing specialized instruction to exceptional students in a Pre-K setting within a K-12 school environment. The primary focus is on delivering academic and social skills development aligned with each students Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). The position is based in Miami, FL and requires a full-school-year commitment with a 40-hour work week. Additionally, the role includes providing support to the Director in their absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to diverse learning styles, needs, temperaments, and cultural backgrounds.
- Support and back-up the Director when unavailable.
- Implement and adapt educational plans and strategies in accordance with IEPs.
- Maintain communication with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student progress.
Qualifications:
- Valid or eligible Professional Educators Certificate in Primary/Elementary Education with an emphasis on Exceptional Student Education (ESE).
- Bachelors degree in education, early childhood, special education, or a related field.
- Required Reading Endorsement and ESOL certification or a commitment to obtain them.
- Completed Department of Children & Family Child Care Training.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Proficiency using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet research tools.
