Job Title: Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse to join our KidneySPA team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the patient education and treatment process. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient education and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis, including evaluating vital signs and overall health status.
- Educate patients and their families about peritoneal dialysis procedures, equipment, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform peritoneal dialysis procedures, including access, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families dealing with chronic kidney disease with the assistance of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in dialysis care.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
- Experience in nephrology and PD dialysis nursing required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Skills:
- Proficient in peritoneal dialysis techniques and equipment.
- Knowledge of renal physiology and related medical conditions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to educate and empower patients in their treatment journey.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Requirements:
Current RN licensures appropriate to state regulations, BLS, Covid Vaccination
CPR (BLS) certification
At least two (2) years of experience in the care of chronic renal failure patients
Three (3) months of supervised self-dialysis training
Demonstrate a working knowledge of English and Spanish and be able to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to leverage transportation to move between locations; including patient homes when necessary/appropriate
