Paper Converting Machine Operator (1st & 2nd Shift)

Are you a skilled and safety-conscious machine operator with experience in a manufacturing environment? Our client, a trusted leader in paper converting and flexographic printing for over 25 years, is looking for dedicated Paper Converting Machine Operators to join our team in Pensacola, FL.

About the Role

As a Paper Converting Machine Operator, you will play a key role in our production process, operating specialized machinery to transform large paper rolls into custom sizes and formats. You will be responsible for ensuring every step of production is carried out with precision, care, and adherence to our high standards for quality and safety.

Shifts Available:

First Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)

Second Shift: Monday - Wednesday, 4:45 PM - 6:45 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. Additional work on Thursdays may be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and maintain paper converting machines to achieve optimal run speeds.

Review job orders to understand product specifications and requirements.

Monitor roll quality continuously during production runs.

Verify final product weight, packaging, and job order accuracy.

Accurately complete all required production and quality paperwork.

Perform routine machine maintenance and keep your work area clean and organized.

Safely operate a forklift to load and unload machines and transport materials as needed.

Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toed shoes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Forklift operation experience is required.

Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Exceptional mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and proficiency in calculating rates and percentages.

Ability to accurately read a ruler to the 1/32 inch.

Impressive problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret and follow instructions.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
