Job Description

BayCare is currently seeking a Manager of Rehabilitation for Morton Plant Hospital to lead our acute rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for a seasoned rehab professional with acute care experience and a proven ability to manage a large, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital environment.


Position Details:

Location: Clearwater, FL - Morton Plant

Status: Fulltime - Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Friday; Day Shift (occasional weekends)

The Manager of Rehabilitation will:

  • Oversee daily operations of acute rehab services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of therapists, assistants, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in acute rehabilitation care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, case management, and other departments to optimize patient outcomes and throughput.
  • Monitor performance metrics, patient satisfaction, and staff engagement, implementing improvement strategies as needed.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and productivity to meet departmental goals.
  • Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and program development for rehab services.


Qualifications:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in acute care rehab, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams with confidence, empathy, and resilience.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred.
