Summary Statement
An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible for electrical equipment operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and field support systems assigned to it. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Foreman.
This is a working technical position and part of the Operations Division. It encompasses technical, supervisory, and hands-on work to install, maintain, repair, calibrate electrical equipment, electronic instrumentation, and assist in the operation of the treatment facility and maintenance of treatment plant and associated field mechanical equipment. The District wastewater facilities is a 24-hours per day year round operation and a person in this category may be subject to working shift work on a regular basis including holidays and weekends.
Responsibilities
Performs duties as assigned including but not limited to:
· Recommends for selection, installs, calibrates, and monitors sensing, telemeters, recording, and other instrumentation and circuitry components.
· Sketches and builds or modifies jigs, fixtures, instruments, and related apparatus.
· Performs preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of field support systems electric components and controls.
· Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of electronic instrumentation, and control circuit.
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Master or Journeyman Electrician License or County certificate of competency preferred; OR
· 5 years of experience in the electrical/electronic construction and repair or utilities OR
a Combination of education and experience

· Effective computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Ethical Conduct at all times
· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Pass a pre-employment physical along with a drug test.
· Must possess a valid Florida driver license and acquire a valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver License (CDL) within the first year of hire.
