Your Role

We are hiring an experienced Field Service Engineer (Metrologist) to provide expert service and support for medical imaging equipment, handling installation, maintenance, and repairs. This role requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to customer service and regulatory standards

  • Engage with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner to effectively resolve assigned service issues.
  • Oversee parts management for designated assignments: retrieve ordered components, return any defective or unused items, and accurately record part usage in accordance with company policies.
  • Complete maintenance and equipment changes quickly with little oversight.
  • Perform repairs on customer-site systems including diagnostic imaging, therapy, computer, and clinical network systems by utilizing available resources and collaborating with other Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Install equipment by performing tasks such as uncrating, inventory management, mechanical assembly, cabling, calibration, adjustments, and comprehensive testing to facilitate effective equipment handover to the customer. Ensure all documentation required by manufacturers and regulatory authorities at local, regional, national, and international levels is properly completed.
  • Promptly and thoroughly complete all necessary documentation as specified.
  • Respond to after-hours calls according to the annual on-call schedule on a rotational basis, and work overtime during on-call periods or as circumstances dictate.
  • Engage proactively in training programs and consistently enhance professional knowledge through practical field assignments.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and work procedures.
  • Accurate entry of all service orders into the software system.


Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable Field Service Engineer experience.
  • Experience with medical imaging systems (ultrasound, AX, X-ray, MRI, etc.) required.
  • Experience with multiple vendors such as Philips, Siemens, and GE preferred
  • At least one year of experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to repair and install medical or other technical systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and effective oral communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to self-direct and manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Travel is required. At PSC Biotech, many of our projects and clients are located in various regions around the country.
