Job Title: Supervisor II, Laboratory (Auto-Chemistry)
Location: Onsite – DeLand, FL 32724
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (plus one Saturday every 12–13 weeks)
Position Overview
Client Laboratories is hiring a Supervisor II to lead operations within the Auto-Chemistry Department at its DeLand, FL location. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing core laboratory workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving quality initiatives, and managing a team of lab professionals. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Laboratory Supervisor with strong clinical and leadership experience in a high-volume lab setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Oversight & Leadership

Manage day-to-day operations of the Auto-Chemistry lab, from sample processing to result reporting

Ensure compliance with established protocols, procedures, and quality benchmarks

Support training, competency assessments, and serve as a technical resource to staff

Monitor departmental performance and identify areas for operational improvement

Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship to team members
Teammate Management

Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes

Approve timecards and manage team scheduling, including time-off requests

Conduct performance reviews and maintain documentation in compliance with HR policies
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

Lead internal quality initiatives, including CAP surveys, incident reports, and turnaround time monitoring

Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and organizational protocols

Partner with leadership across departments to develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Operational Support

Create and implement staffing plans to ensure consistent bench coverage

Provide direct bench support during high-volume periods or staff shortages

Facilitate collaboration with other departments to maintain seamless workflows
Required Qualifications

6–8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field

Active Florida Supervisor License in Chemistry

Certification from a recognized lab certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a high-volume reference laboratory environment

Knowledge of kidney care diagnostics and clinical laboratory quality standards
