About the Role
The Graphics Production Manager oversees all aspects of custom signage and large format graphics manufacturing. This position plays a pivotal role in leading production operations, supervising staff, ensuring high-quality output, and driving efficiency through process improvement. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in sign production, wide-format printing, and job costing systems. This role is central to maintaining consistent workflow, quality control, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the graphics and signage production department
- Supervise production staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Oversee job costing procedures to ensure accurate pricing, budget tracking, and profitability
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflow and reduce material waste
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of projects while coordinating with sales and project teams
- Maintain quality assurance standards for all printed graphics and fabricated signage
- Manage inventory levels, coordinate supply orders, and maintain vendor relationships
- Operate and maintain equipment such as wide-format printers, CNC routers, laminators, and finishing tools
- Enforce safety compliance and OSHA standards across the production floor
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and output quality
Qualifications:
- 35 years of experience in signage, large format printing, or graphics manufacturing
- Proven leadership in a production or manufacturing environment
- Experience with job costing and production performance tracking
- Strong understanding of sign-making materials, printing processes, and finishing techniques
- Proficiency in production software such as Flexi, ONYX, SAi, or similar programs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and team management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Desired Qualifications:
- Forklift certification
- OSHA safety training or certification
- Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems used in production operations
- Project management experience in the signage or printing industry
