Position Summary: The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing exceptional patient care. This role includes managing staff, optimizing workflow, and maintaining high standards of service and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medication Dispensing: Accurately review and dispense medications for patients, ensuring correct dosages and formulations.

2. Patient Counseling: Provide telephonic or written counseling to patients about their medications, including usage, side effects, and interactions.

3. Prescription Verification: Verify and validate prescriptions received from healthcare providers, ensuring they are complete and accurate.

4. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring that stock is up-to-date and appropriately stored.

5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice, including the handling of controlled substances.

6. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control initiatives to maintain the safety and effectiveness of dispensed medications.

7. Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other pharmacy staff to coordinate patient care and resolve any issues related to medication therapy.

8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and any adverse events or medication errors.

9. Clinical Support: Provide clinical support for medication management, including drug utilization reviews and monitoring therapy outcomes.

10. Training and Mentorship: Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring adherence to pharmacy protocols and standards.

These responsibilities ensure the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients through mail order services.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current pharmacist license in the state of Florida.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy management role preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and best practices.
