Responsibilities:
Verify insurance coverage and benefits for new and established patients
- Obtain insurance authorizations for medical services, tests and procedures
- Must have working experience with all payer types; commercial, governmental, Medicare replacement plans, Medicaid, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, etc...
- Update records with accurate patient copayments and insurance information
- Inform relevant clinical staff of insurance denials
- Answer patient questions related to billing and insurance
- Schedule patient appointment
- Collaborate with management and staff to devise workflow and system efficiencies
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office setting
- Prior work experience with health insurance benefits
- Experience working with multiple payer types (commercial, governmental, Medicare replacement plans, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, etc.)
- Proficiency in relevant software and electronic health record systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct
