Job Summary
The Resident District Manager (RDM) is a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing all dining and hospitality functions across the primary account, while maintaining readiness to lead multiple locations as a District or Regional‑level director. This role manages a cross‑functional leadership team, partners directly with the client, drives financial success, and ensures exceptional service delivery across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to all onsite management roles, including the Operations Manager, Catering Director, Executive Chef, and departmental supervisors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring strong communication, partnership, and alignment with organizational goals and expectations.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations during typical Monday–Friday business hours while maintaining responsibility for catered events that may occur during evenings and weekends.
- Guide the development, motivation, and performance of all managers and frontline teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, safety, and service excellence.
- Maintain oversight of multi‑unit potential, supporting additional locations as needed and demonstrating leadership readiness at the District/Regional level.
- Ensure consistent compliance with all food safety, sanitation, regulatory, and quality assurance standards across operations.
- Drive financial performance through effective P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, inventory oversight, and cost‑control strategies.
- Lead operational planning, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, menu execution, customer satisfaction, and service quality.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams—including Sales, Finance, and HR—on retention efforts, proposals, proformas, staffing strategies, and long‑term account success.
- Oversee catered event execution from planning to service delivery, ensuring flawless execution and strong client satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting and consistent adherence to policies, procedures, and organizational standards.
- Champion workforce development through training, succession planning, coaching, and building multi‑unit operational capabilities within the management team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five (5) years of progressive multi‑unit or senior‑level leadership experience in food service, hospitality, environmental services, plant operations, or related support services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven success in leading diverse operational teams, managing client relationships, and overseeing complex food service programs.
- Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing budgets, contracts, and P&L performance.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze challenges, make effective decisions, and operate with resilience and professionalism.
- Experience managing catered events and high‑volume service operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel if supporting multiple locations.
