Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Pioneer Welding & Fabrication is seeking a detail-oriented Steel Saw Operator for the 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM). The Steel Saw Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating saw equipment to cut and prepare steel and metal materials for fabrication. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and production standards. Only PTO is offered as a benefit at this time.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and operate band saws, circular saws, and other cutting equipment to process steel and metal materials according to job specifications and technical drawings.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine precise cutting measurements and tolerances.

Inspect incoming materials and completed parts for accuracy, ensuring all finished work meets specified dimensions and quality standards.

Perform routine maintenance tasks on saw equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and basic troubleshooting; report any malfunctions promptly.

Handle and move raw materials and finished components, using overhead cranes or forklifts as required, and follow all safety protocols.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, complying with company and OSHA safety standards.

Accurately complete daily production logs and other required documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

One to three years of experience operating saws or working in a metal manufacturing environment is preferred. Entry-level applicants with a strong work ethic may be considered; on-the-job training is available.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Proficiency in basic math, measurements, and inspection techniques.

Familiarity with metal cutting equipment and safety procedures in a manufacturing setting.

Physical ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.

Availability to work the 2nd shift and overtime as needed.

Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is $15 to $17 per hour, based on experience and skill level. This rate is competitive within the Central Florida region and reflects current industry standards for Metal Saw Operators as of July 2025 (ZipRecruiter, 2025).
