We have an immediate opening for a part-time Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team in Jupiter, FL. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30am-12pm, with weekend coverage on Saturdays if needed and 1-2 holidays per year and the ability to float to our Jensen Beach and Wellington locations (once opened) if needed.
How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our "job." In general, the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for:
- High volume of phlebotomy
- Maintains supplies for the blood drawing stations
- Ensures lab specimens are sent to proper labs
- Documents patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records
- Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
- Assists physician or ultrasound technician with various procedure
- Assists with HSGs as needed
- Takes vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
- Assists with the clinical care of fertility patients
- Provides patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
- Provides pre and post op education
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families
- Works independently to assure the program goals are achieved
- Supports and promotes excellence in customer service
What You'll Bring:
- Strong phlebotomy skills required
- High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
- Completion of a formal MA or Phlebotomy program preferred or 5 years of experience
- Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications with accuracy and speed with data entry required
