Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized support as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a pediatric outpatient school-based setting serving children ages 2 to 18. This full-year contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to work with a varied caseload focusing on mild to moderate speech and language challenges, including pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing delays, articulation, and autism spectrum disorders, primarily with high-functioning children. The role involves seeing one child per hour, allowing for a manageable pace with a dedicated lunch break, making for a low-stress environment without the need for travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists in implementing individualized therapy plans for a K-12 school-aged outpatient population.
- Address communication challenges such as articulation disorders, pragmatic language difficulties, and literacy delays.
- Work primarily with children diagnosed with mild to moderate impairments and high-functioning autism, focusing on enhancing their speech and communication skills.
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions and progress.
- Collaborate closely with the clinical team to support each childs needs effectively.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with experience in both school and healthcare settings preferred.
- Comfortable working with children between ages 2 and 18.
- Knowledge of speech, language, and communication disorders common in pediatric populations.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a clinical school environment.
