A well-established Trusts & Estates practice is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Associate to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate, tax, and fiduciary matters for high-net-worth domestic and foreign clients, in a collaborative environment that supports long-term career development.
Key Details
Experience Level:
3–8 years of experience in Estate Planning, Estate & Gift Taxation, and Estate/Trust Administration
Education:
Tax LL.M. or Estate Planning LL.M. strongly preferred
Billable Hours:
1,850–1,950 annually (varies by location)
Compensation Range:
$180,000 – $300,000 (depending on experience and market)
Responsibilities

Advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth domestic and foreign clients on estate planning strategies.

Draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and wealth-transfer instruments.

Handle estate and gift tax planning matters, including GST planning and complex multigenerational strategies.

Manage estate and trust administration matters, including probate, fiduciary guidance, and tax filings.

Provide counsel to charitable organizations, foundations, and corporate fiduciaries such as banks and trust companies.

Conduct tax analysis involving cross-border planning, closely held business structures, and family entities.

Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys across tax, corporate, and private client practice groups.

Mentor junior associates and contribute to practice development initiatives.
Qualifications

3–8 years of experience in estate planning, estate and gift taxation, and trust/estate administration.

Strong drafting and analytical skills with experience preparing complex planning instruments.

Tax LL.M. or Estate Planning LL.M. required or strongly preferred.

Excellent academic credentials and strong research/writing capabilities.

Ability to manage sophisticated client relationships with discretion and professionalism.
