JOB TITLE: Development Manager
EMPLOYER: Catalyst Miami, Inc.
DEPARTMENT: Advancement
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Advancement
EFFECTIVE DATE: March 16, 2026
SUMMARY: The Development Manager provides support for a range of fundraising activities, including management of grant proposals and reports, support for our annual giving program, and support for our fundraising events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead donor management and recognition, and communications including message development, appeal design, tracking of donors and list segmentation
- Manage online giving opportunities and donor management platform
- Work with the Senior Director of Advancement, department leads, and CEO to manage grant application and grant reporting processes
- Develop, write, and submit grant proposals
- Gain and maintain familiarity with past and current funded proposals and with all organization funding opportunities
- Gain and maintain an understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and the organization
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Department to track and maintain records of grants and donations
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the Be the Catalyst Summit, Give Miami Day, and fall donor event
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Advancement on fundraising activities
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Advancement
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position does not directly supervise employees at this time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Language: Professional working proficiency in oral and written English
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Years of experience: 2 years
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of web-based platforms
- Knowledge of development/fundraising

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work in a shared-workspace environment
- Stretch and bend to organize and distribute materials for Catalyst Miami activities
- Able to sit at desk for long periods of time and utilize computer for extended periods
- Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate organization needs, including evenings and weekends. Out of town travel may be required.
