Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Nurse Manager of Emergency Services (RN) for a top Healthcare client.
This leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day provision of care, operational oversight, and direct management of all nursing staff within the Emergency Department. The Clinical Manager maintains an active role in community education, works closely with medical staff to uphold quality, and ensures the unit operates efficiently and in compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Assume administrative responsibility for the provision of emergency services on designated shifts, collaborating with the management team and Director on staff scheduling.
- Provide direct and ongoing supervision of staff, managing conflict resolution, completing performance evaluations, and overseeing personnel policy compliance.
- Lead and implement active case management for all patients under supervision, ensuring comprehensive patient care delivery and positive outcomes.
- Ensure all required quality checks (e.g., crash cart, temperature logs) are conducted promptly and within the given timeframe for unit-specific indicators.
- Utilize performance improvement principles and data analysis for decision-making, seeking opportunities to improve care or system processes.
- Serve as a resource to the department, maintaining awareness of current developments and trends in nursing practice and equipment operation.
- Collaborate with preceptors and new employees to facilitate seamless integration into the team and assess departmental needs for staff development programs.
Requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution is required.
- Must be actively enrolled in a BSN program (Enrollment required at time of hire/start).
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of recent Emergency Department (ED) leadership experience is REQUIRED.
Certifications/Licenses
- Current FL RN license or appropriate compact licensure is required. If compact, an active FL RN license is required within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner license is acceptable in lieu of the standard RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS - AHA or Red Cross) certification is required within 30 days of employment start date.
Skills
- Demonstrated sound knowledge base in nursing practice, equipment operation, and departmental policies/procedures.
- Proven ability to provide direct and ongoing staff supervision, conflict resolution, and personnel management (performance evaluations/discipline).
- Expertise in performance improvement principles, data collection, and analysis for decision-making.
