This position is located in Hialeah, FL US

We are seeking a fellowship-trained Pain Management Physician (MD) to join our team in Florida and provide high-quality care for patients with acute and chronic pain. The ideal candidate will have completed an ACGME‐accredited fellowship and will deliver evidence‐based care through both interventional procedures and comprehensive treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients, upon each visit, with a wide range of chronic and acute pain conditions using a multidisciplinary and evidence-based approach.

  • Perform interventional procedures including, but not limited to, epidural injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, spinal cord stimulation trials, and joint injections.

  • Collaborate with primary care, physical medicine, rehabilitation, psychology, neurology, and other specialties to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with medical and legal standards.

  • Stay current with advances in pain management through continuing medical education (CME), journal review, and participation in relevant professional organizations.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, federal and state regulations, and ethical standards in all patient care activities.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and, if applicable, the education of residents, fellows, or medical students.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution.

  • Completion of an ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education)-accredited fellowship

    • Focuses on:

      • Chronic and acute pain management

      • Interventional procedures (nerve blocks, epidurals, etc.)

      • Pharmacologic management (opioids, adjuvant meds)

      • Multidisciplinary care (physical therapy, behavioral health)

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Pain Medicine and a primary specialty (e.g., Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, etc.).

  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida.

  • Current and up-to-date CME credits as required by state and specialty board.

  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-centered care skills.

  • Experience in interventional pain procedures and multimodal pain management strategies.

  • Current staff privileges at a Florida-licensed hospital to practice pain medicine or perform pain medicine procedures;

  • Three (3) years of documented full-time practice (average of 20 hours per week each year) in pain management and successful completion of 40 hours of in-person, live-participatory AMA Category I CME courses in pain management that cover all of the following:

    • The goals of treating both short-term and ongoing pain;

    • Controlled substance prescribing rules, including controlled substance agreements;

    • Drug screening or testing, including usefulness and limitations;

    • The use of controlled substances in treating short-term and ongoing pain syndromes, including usefulness and limitations;

    • Evidence-based non-controlled pharmacological pain treatments;

    • Evidence-based non-pharmacological pain treatments;

    • Conducting a complete pain medicine history and physical examination;

    • Appropriate progress note documentation;

    • Comorbidities with pain disorders, including psychiatric and addictive disorders;

    • Drug abuse and diversion prevention;

    • Risk management;

    • Medical ethics.
