Job Title: Construction Estimator

Location: Pompano Beach, FL

Salary: $300,000 ($40,000 base salary + commission)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with expertise in roofing, concrete restoration, impact windows and doors, permitting, and bid preparation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate cost estimates, securing permits, and developing competitive bids to drive project success in compliance with Florida Building Code and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for roofing projects (e.g., modified bitumen, TPO, metal), concrete restoration, and impact windows and doors.

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate material and labor cost projections.

• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials (e.g., GAF modified bitumen, polyisocyanurate insulation, hurricane-rated windows).

• Manage permitting processes with Broward County and other local authorities, ensuring compliance with Florida Building Code (e.g., R-20 insulation, 120–150 mph wind resistance).

• Prepare and submit competitive bids, including detailed proposals and schedules.

• Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify scope and ensure alignment.

• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local building codes, material costs, and industry trends in South Florida.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of construction estimating experience, with specific expertise in:

  • Roofing: Modified bitumen, TPO, or metal roofing systems.

  • Concrete Restoration: Structural repairs, waterproofing, and coatings.

  • Impact Windows and Doors: Hurricane-rated products compliant with Miami-Dade standards.

  • Permitting: Familiarity with Broward County and Florida Building Code requirements.

  • Bid Preparation: Proven track record of preparing competitive, accurate bids.

• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs in South Florida’s coastal environment.

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct site visits.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

• Bilingual is a PLUS

Compensation

• Base Salary: $40,000 per year

• Commission: Performance-based commission on awarded projects
