Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Glass Cutter to join our team. The Glass Cutter will be responsible for measuring, marking, and cutting glass pieces to fulfill customer orders.
Our ideal candidate should have previous experience as a Glass Cutter, be proficient with using cutting tools and machinery, and have a keen eye for detail.
The successful candidate will be capable of working with great precision and minimal supervision.
Ultimately, the role of the Glass Cutter is to deliver high-quality, accurately cut-glass pieces that meet our customers’ requirements.
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting work orders and diagrams
- Measuring and marking glass for cutting
- Cutting glass with hand tools or automated machinery
- Inspecting cut glass for flaws or irregularities
- Grinding and polishing edges when necessary
- Handling, packing, and shipping finished products
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Performing routine maintenance on cutting tools and machinery
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions of finished products.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
Skills
- Previous experience as a Glass Cutter or in a similar role
- Proficiency with measuring and marking tools
- Ability to use hand tools and automated machinery safely and accurately
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy glass pieces
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in operating programmable logic controllers (PLC) for automated machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication and machining processes.
- Familiarity with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality assurance checks.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurement calculations.
- Experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments is essential.
