Job Summary
Bay Area Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated College Basketball Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball and possess the ability to recruit, teach, motivate, and inspire athletes of all skill levels. This role requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. The Basketball Coach will be responsible for developing players' skills, promoting teamwork, and ensuring the overall success of the basketball program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to improve players' technical skills and physical conditioning.
  • Organize and lead team practices, games, and tournaments.
  • Team travel and cordination 3-5 games of week locally and regoinally
  • Develop & implement strategic outreach plan - Create your custom outreach plan and get in touch with families of youth athletes in your region. This could include in-person engagement, a digital approach, or both.
  • Provide constructive feedback to players to enhance their performance.
  • Foster a positive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, respect, and collaboration.
  • Monitor athletes’ progress and provide guidance on behavior management both on and off the court.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive program.
  • Maintain safety standards during practices and games, ensuring a safe environment for all participants.
  • Available during the off-season to recruit athletes locally in your region

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and coaching techniques.
  • Experience in coaching or playing basketball at a competitive level is preferred( High school and college preferred)
  • Ability to manage diverse groups of athletes effectively while promoting positive behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
  • Certification in lifeguarding or first aid is an advantage but not required.
  • A passion for sports education and youth development is essential.
